I Zalai-Gaal retrieved hundreds of bronze beads from a tribal chieftan's tomb in Tolan County, south Hungary. He estimated the age of the burial chamber to be circa 7000bp.
Is there any definative evidence of bronze production in Europe about that time?

Last I heard is that the earliest Cental European Bronze Age manifestations had been dated at about 1800 BC. I'll also point out that early metallurgy is beyond the scope (on the young side) of the interests of Palanth. Thanks anyway for passing on this incredible bit of information.

That link didn't work for me. Got a message requesting a user name and password!

Regarding that 7000 BP date, that would be very early for bronze. Otzi (Italian 'ice man')  was dated to about 5300 years old and he was found with a copper axe. From what I have read the Egyptians were using copper chisels to quarry stone 4500 years ago.

I agree. Technologically, it makes sense for copper metallurgy to have preceded the development of bronze technology, and this is clearly shown by archaeological/chronological evidence. If you and Bob don't have time to read books and articles about the origins and chronology of the Bronze Age, you should have a look at what Wikipedia has to offer ( HERE), and this with references to earlier copper technology manifestations. This said I would like to reiterate that if it cannot be demonstrated that this particular topic falls within the general scope of interests of Palanth, it should be dropped.
