Jacques, Greg, and all:

As at palanth-l, I plan mostly to listen and learn in this particular venue, so I don't imagine I will be doing a great deal of posting, except maybe to inform the members of breaking paleoanthropological news or to ask questions of the experts.

Which brings me to my question.  How does one go about choosing the proper venue for anything one might want to post?  Maybe this will become obvious over time, but at the moment, I find the categories a little confusing.  "Radiometry" and "Miscellaneous" seem fairly straightforward,  but where does "physical anthropology" end and "prehistory" begin?  Is the emphasis of the latter supposed to be more on archaeology?  And wouldn't both topics kind of overlap with "paleoethnology"?  What, precisely, is subsumed under "paleoethnology?  I don't necessarily think I'm the only one who might be confused here.

Dear Anne,

Given the nature of the beast (i.e., "Palaeoanthropology" -- sensu lato), all the Forum categories are, by definition, likely to be somewhat overlapping. It will be up to contributors to find the most appropriate "niches" for their posts. I should also  mention that the Administrator and the Moderators will be able to re-arrange or place things in their proper contexts.

My best,

Jacques

Jacques:

OK and thank you.  Now I won't feel *quite* so guilty if I somehow end up putting something in the "wrong" place!
