To all:

For anyone interested, I've just come across a somewhat new study of the Neandertal mtDNA extracted by Krings a few years back.  The authors apparently have some criticism of the methodology and come to somewhat different conclusions as to the status of Neandertals than did Krings et. al.  You can find it at:

http://www.molbiolevo.org/cgi/content/abstract/19/8/1359

If you want a PDF of the article, you can obtain it for $5.00 US, which is quite reasonable.

The original link was posted on Evolutionary Psychology, and I was able to obtain the full article from another source.  If anyone is interested, I have downloaded the PDF  to my own personal files, and as there is not yet a Gallery Section for me to upload the file into, I will be happy to send the PDF along to anyone who is interested.

Leigh:

That's extremely weird.  OTOH, if you just want the paper, I have it downloaded on my computer in PDF, and I'll be glad to send it along to you privately if you'd like.  Let me know.  My e-mail address is:

avgilbert@prodigy.net

if you want to communicate privately about this.

The correct url for the abstract, if anyone else wants, is:
