Hi,

On page 279 of Paleoanthropology (1999, hardback) Wolpoff states:

"Scattered remains of A. afarensis have been found from the areas surrounding Lake Turkana in Ehtiopia and Kenya. The dates and detailed provenience of these and all other circum-Turkan hominids from the Pliocene and Early Pleistocene are given C. Feibel and colleagues."

But Wolpoff doesn't provide a reference to the study in either his chapter or end-of-book bibliography. Can anyone provide the reference please?

Mike.

Perhaps the following

Feibel, Craig S; Brown, Francis H; McDougall, Ian.  Stratigraphic context of fossil hominids from the Omo group deposits: northern Turkana Basin, Kenya and Ethiopia.

In addition, Kanapoi Lothogom on the West Side (though not par of what is usually called "West Turkana") and Allia bay are important sites.

You can find everything you need in Klein's Human Career as well

Hi Greg,

Have been out of touch  for a while.

What is the Allia Bay material?

Cheers,
