Hi Jacques,

When is the release date for the first issue ?

Mike.

Well, good question! I am finishing the editing of a lengthy Review Paper I received a little while ago. This done, there should be enough content to come up with a demonstration of what Palanth would like to be. To answer your question, I would say -- if nothing bad happens to me! -- mid-February.

I hope so ! We, well at least I, have been keen on reading the end result.

Question. With your subscription model...have you been able to obtain subscriptions from various universities for their academics and students to obtain access from within their respective networks ?

Well, in short, I still have to take a lot of pills!

Very few, and I don't think we will get much of this until we come up with the "proof in the pudding".

Jacques, any news ?

Short of two papers that never showed up, all  the texts are done. Actual programming (i.e., "onlining") will begin next Monday.

Does that mean the first articles will appear next week or that the programming of them starts then and they will appear sometime later ?

As of this coming Monday, the texts and the accompanying images (Figs., graphs, & Tables), will be passed on to Marc (known as the PALANTH Administrator) who will then format all this material according to the presentation standard that has been chosen for PALANTH. So, a few more days to go, yet, but we are finally getting there!

There will be a few changes with regards to the initial (hoped for) content, but I think it will be a good demonstration of the worth of this (journal) concept.

Thanks for the clarification. Will the first issue be free or subscription from the start ? (in case any plans have changed)

The first issue will be free, as planned, and actual subscription will be required for later ones. In other words, the Inaugural Issue will be freely accessible for two months, at the very least. The next one is planned for early Summer, assuming that all the promised papers do show up!

Yes, what is the most current news?  (Mikey, did you deliberately post this message a year to the day after the first one?)
