This is for people who understand that 'prehistory', ie, prehistoric archaeology (and all it entails), is a rather important component of what we like to call 'palaeanthropology'.

Kozlowski, J. K. 2001. Origin and evolution of blade technologies in the Middle and Early Upper Palaeolithic. Mediterranean Archaeology and Archaeometry. 1(1): 3-18.

It can be read HERE. Just click on 'Issues', 'Content', and then the free, downloadble Kozlowski PDF.

Thanks Jacques,

This reference probably should be entered in the "Bookyard", and it should also be noted here that the Kozlowski paper has previously been discussed on the "Prehistory" board at:

The Kozlowski paper downloads very slowly (the pdf is >5 million bits), but well worth the effort.
