For those of you who would be tempted by a few days of vacation in Paris (France), it is worth noting that the "Musee de l'Homme", Metro Trocadero, in Paris, hosts a great exhibition on the "first humans beings in China". It is the year of China in France in 2004.

"Premiers Hommes de Chine"
From Wednesday March 31 2004, to Monday January 3, 2005

I was lucky enough to have a meeting in Paris last week and a couple of hours to spend...

There is a magnificent collection of animal and human fossils and a great number of artefacts, beautiful stone industry examples from several periods, throughout China's prehistory.

There are also excellent multimedia screens spread along the visit path.

Enjoy for those of you who will be able to go. For those who won't, there is still the possibility to buy the special issue of
Dossiers d'Archéologie, N° 292, avril 2004, "Premiers Hommes de Chine, 1 million à 35 000 ans av. J.-C."

Thanks for bringing this up. I am eagerly waiting for a copy of Dossiers d'Archéologie (usually very late in Montréal), and I am looking forward to see the actual exhibition in a not too distant future.
