Is it possible to attach pictures to posts here? It could be useful to do that.
Glad you asked. Yes. There are two ways to pass on visual material to the Forum. A first one is to have images attached to actual posts. These pictures will, by definition, be relatively small and characterized by low resolution. A second one is to provide PALANTH with pictures (relevant to a post/discussions) which will be on a special server that allows for the storage and retrieval of various kinds of documents, including large/high resolution images. To date, very little use has been made of the latter, but you can find two examples in the Forum Archives -- Background & Complementary Information. Finally note that the material under discussion has to be in tune with the goals of the Forum, including the fact that serious attention is to be given to copyright issues.
I'll have more detailed information on "how to go about all this" within the next two or three days.
