For your information, people who are as interested as Greg in the "demic diffusion model", and whose libraries are not well stocked with material dealing with this issue, should have a look at the Google listing. It provides quite a few pertinent papers, including one that happens to have been published, in Antiquity, by Mary Jakes, in collaboration with two of our Forum members, namely, David Lubell and Chris Meiklejohn.
