This article is in press at L'anthropologie

It is as you might expect in french but it has some lovely pictures of paleolithic art:

The Lloseta: an important and nearly unknown cave in the ensemble of Ardines, Ribadesella

http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.anthro.2005.09.010

Rodrigo de Balbín Behrmann, J. Javier Alcolea González, Miguel A. González Pereda

Abstract
This summary on The Lloseta shows us a much richer reality that it had been presented through
the precedent publications. To begin it is presented as an shelter environment decorated in all their
extension whose decoration and parallel they find real sense if we put them in connection with the
neigh boring Tito Bustillo. It possesses a prevalence of signs and old representations, a bad general
conservation and an own and original internal organization. None of the caves of Ardines, including
their main protagonist, she makes isolated significant sense, but rather they are and were supplemented
in the past, for activities, occupation and use.We try to know the meaning of all and each one of
the caves in connection with the other ones, because we think that their function should be collective
and complementary.

Thanks for the info.

I've been able to find a couple of interesting links with a few pictures of Lloseta Cave paintings. They are wondeful. However, as usual the reference article is accessible only for a fee...

I don't really need the full article on this one, yet it is quite problematic that scientific papers are rarely available to researchers. This means that only researchers who are in a University team or who are "independently whealthy"  can access these papers.

OK this may be somewhat off topic. Sorry I stop here...

Yours sincerely.

Paul:

On the subject of these papers being available(or not), I completely agree with you.  It's *waaaay*  too expensive to subscribe to most of these journals, so university libraries are usually the only places where you can get them.  I'm lucky in a way, because there is a university library reasonably close to my present home, and anyone can go in and look at the journals or read the books and/or photocopy relevant articles.  Also, sometimes such articles are available in pdf if there is somebody that has access and can pdf it.
