Did the DNA analyses of the nine Neanderthal remains provide any information about their bloodtypes [ie:rh-]?

G'day Bob,

I moved your question to the Human Evolutionary Biology  board, as it seems more appropriate here.

If your question (as I understand it) is whether analysis of Neanderthal ancient DNA (mtDNA)  can yield information on bloodtype, I'm not sure, but I don't think so.  I've read all the Neanderthal mtDNA papers and never seen bloodtype mentioned.  I could be wrong about this, so I welcome correction.

Dar and Robert:

Somebody correct me if *I'm* wrong, but I don't think mtDNA even includes bloodtypes.
