As is my usual habit, I dug around the John Hawks Weblog and found this:

It leads you to something called LifeSciences 454(why the 454, I don't know).  This, however, is the team that has been busy extracting Neandertal genes from Neandertal fossils  over the years.  Now they want to sequence a Neandertal *genome*!  Which will be interesting, but. . . .
